As your home inspector it is my duty, and my privilege, to provide you with the best service possible and to arm you with the information you need about the condition of the property. With over two decades of experience in construction and home repair, in addition to 8 years as a real estate agent, I have the experience and knowledge necessary to provide a detailed inspection and to distinguish between major and minor problems with the home.
I encourage you to be present during the inspection. You'll be able to see the condition of the home first-hand, and I'll be able to explain everything to you as we move throughout the house.
Edward Inspections provides professional home inspection services in Memphis, Tennessee and surround communities in Bartlett, Germantown, Munford, Cordova, Millington, and Shelby County as well as Crittenden County in Arkansas and areas in Northern Mississippi.
We've been trained and certified by ICA (Inspection Certification Associates) — the most comprehensive Real Estate Inspection Certification Program available. I looked into buying two homes in Memphis. This is my first time buying a real estate investment property in Memphis. EHIC did an amazing job with the inspection. Their inspection reports were very thorough and comprehensive. Marvin spoke with me over the phone afterwards to walk me through the repair requests to send over to the seller. I hired Edwards Home Inspections Company to do an inspection on a potential rental investment property. They were absolutely amazing. The inspector Marvin Dear was very professional and kept me posted on the inspection results right after the inspection. Company was fast in getting the inspection done. Marvin even took a video of the property for me since I live out of state and was not able to get to see the property for myself. The inspection report was very detailed and provided many pictures. If I could give Marvin more than 5 Stars, I would. Marvin worked diligently on inspecting our future home and took the time to make sure that we understood exactly what he was documenting and why. If an issue was discovered, he not only displayed an exceptional knowledge of building and local codes, but was also able to provide practical repair options and legitimate repair costs. Marvin has a wealth of knowledge not just of home inspection, but also of real estate, home repair, and project management. First off, you should know I'm picky. I like to ask a lot of questions and I dont accept 'I dont know' as an answer. When I hired Marvin Dear, I was taking a leap of faith, both as a first time home buyer and as a transplant to Memphis. To say I was not disappointed is an understatement.
First off, Marvin is knowledgable. Having spent years in reparation of homes under what I can assume was extremely knowledgable tutalidge, he knew exactly what he was looking at and for every step of the way. He was happy to explain the ins and outs of everything he looked for and how our own house applied every step of the way.
Secondly, he was thorough. There was no point of the property he didnt climb through or up to to make sure our first home was sound and safe many years to come. He gave us pointers about upkeep and ran us through what the original builders did and why they did things the way they did.
Lastly, Marvin was as personable as they come. He was friendly and professional and fun to be around. I didnt know a inspection could be such a wonderful experience, but sometimes people surprise me in the best ways.
Parting ways, I felt as if Marvin was a family friend. He was interested in making sure we would be safe and happy in our new home and I would be glad to utilize his expertise in the future.

Amazing company! The inspector showed up on time, was very professional, very thorough, very knowledgeable and answered every question I had. The report was very detailed and well put together, that included clear digital images and an easy to follow outline of the work that was done.
As a single woman purchasing a home, and maybe not knowing all the ins and outs of what to expect, I felt as though I was in the hands of a family member, who was personally making sure I was equipped to make the best possible decision going forth.
